This was my last lunch (Booby’s) in Chicago with Tien before she flew back to Dallas this evening. Sad times, but the Labor Day weekend was in its entirety a complete blast. A few things I noticed most about this city were that driving and parking were disgusting, The Magnificent Mile (and surrounding parks) is the perfect place to visit if you’re short on time in Chicago, and the Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain at night is probably one of the most sentimental places in the world.
I wanted to try some highly rated Chicago-style pizza before I left; Connie’s Pizza seemed to be a favorite but it didn’t quite hit the spot for me. It was okay, not great. I think I’ll stick to New York City and SF for my pizza fixes.
Best friend Donna kept saying how I would regret not eating brunch at The Bongo Room while in Chicago. “Go there,” she said. “Okay…” I said. “GO THERE!” she said. So I went, and I had the best breakfast I’ve probably had in decades.
