From lunch at Quán Ăn Ngon with the Automattic Editorial Team. It’s hard to describe how happy I feel that a team from my company is in Hanoi. I’ve been lobbying for this for years and it finally paid off!
With the exception of in-country trips, I am happy to report that I’m officially done with travel in 2013. It’s been the busiest year of my life, and I’m not exactly sure how I made it through it but I did. Good times.
I’m back in Hanoi and will be in Vietnam until early 2014. It makes me feel so happy to write that.
Today I attended a little league football game in League City, a massive craft show at a church in Missouri City, and dinner with my best friend in Houston Chinatown. Everything here is so spread out, which means that I was in a car for over 2.5 hours today. Just another day in Texas; all worth it though, because there’s nothing better than being around family.
Dinner tonight was at Mala Sichuan Bistro with Joji. It was super-spicy and delicious.
My last day in New York City was incredibly eventful. I met up with my old boss and close friend Thad for brunch to talk about all things WordPress, enjoyed coffee with my coworker and brother from another mother Matías to talk about all things WordPress.com, walked around Central Park to observe the New York City Marathon, and finally ended up over another close friend’s apartment for dinner. I’m now back at my best mate’s parents’ home, packing for Texas and feeling incredibly thankful for the friends I’ve made in New York City. This is fast becoming one of my favorite places in the world, and were it not for the bitter winters I’d find my way here all the time.
The pancakes are from Utopia Diner. They were scrumptious.
