Chickpea Salad

Summer in Hanoi is here. Today was very hot and very clear, two things that it hasn’t been in quite some time. I’ve been getting back into exercising and today I walked around the lake for 90 minutes and worked up quite a sweat. With all the American food and sugar that I consumed last year and the beginning of this year, I’m promising myself that the next 3 months will be sugar-free, filled with exercise, and packed with lots of water. It’s a great time for it, too, with all the sun that’s finally arrived.

It feels like half of Hanoi went home for the holidays. Outside of the Lunar New Year, I’m not used to this kind of quiet; it’s strange, unsettling almost. In any event, I’m having a hard time believing that it’s already May. Where did the first four months of the year go?

The last 9 weeks of resettling back into daily life in Hanoi have been lovely, and I haven’t felt the urge to travel at all. If possible, I’d like to return to the United States only two more times this year, once for a family reunion and once for a WordCamp. Other than that, any travel I do, both for fun and for WordPress, will probably happen inside of Asia.
